This is a good place to hang out after a game of golf. Food is really good.

this restaurant is a quaint place to take the kids (very very kid friendly) and if you like it loud w/o any privacy. i really enjoy eating there and you will always see the same faces. not somewhere to go if your trying to get away from it all!

while attending ASU in the late 60's Mag's became a favorite. Loved it when they added a location on university just a couple doors west of rural and even thought the atmosphere was similar to first ave the food was every bit as good. when school was completed i returned home to Chicago area but never missed a visit to Mag's when i visited sun valley. was very disappointed when one visit revealed they were gone. now i try to reproduce bunnies, beanies, apples with cheddar and the rum sauce and of course a "jumbo" at home. wouldn't it be cool if someone re-opened Mag's and it was as good as originally?

I worked there 3 times and loved the food every bit as much the last time I had it as I did the first time, when my family moved to Scottsdale in 1957. I managed the store on Shea in the early 80's. I still make bunnies and beanies at home! But they are never as good. You actually need a food slicer and grill to do it justice! If my old friend Sheila who worked there with me in 1971-2 reads this, get a hold of me!

I worked there too after I got out of college during the 70's, waiting to get a job as a teacher! Loved all the people! I moved to CA, and am just moving back to AZ. Went by 1st street to see Mags and was so sad to see it gone! I wanted to hear the bunnies and beanies hopping! What ever happened to the family that owned Mags?

I worked 4 Mag's on 1st street in the late 70's thru mid 80's left & went back 2 Mag's on Shea in '98 till it closed & nothing changed...I loved the crew who wkd there, food was great & we valued r customers. Still friends w/some who wkd their & some customers..Have apple pie sauce, bisquit & gravy & hot mustard receipts. If your wanting these receipts contact Patty @ e-mail listed here. I miss Mag's & know many who still do also..Mag's was a true family, enjoyable place to work.

I too have missed Mag's Ham Bun in the Valley. I used to go to the Tempe and Payson locations many years ago. I would give anything to have those recipes!

This restaurant closed in 2002 but I used to work for the family back in the 1970. I'm thankful to say I held on to the recipes!
