I have eaten at Lubys in Beaumont for over 40 yrs. I have seen the decline in the business without knowing why. However over the last few months i have found out why. My family and I eat there approximately twice a week. One month ago, the man sitting across from us found a roach in his food.. the female manager asked him if put it there? come on now? I know the economy is bad but this was a professional businessman. Then just two weeks ago, the table adjacent to ours asked to speak to the manager. It was the same manager as the last incident. We heard him ask," do you mind telling me what you think this is in my mash potatoes?" She responded, "it looks like a metal screew" and it deed it was. A rusted bolt in the mash potatoes. The manager then replied, "there is nothing we can do .. that kind of thing happens all the time, would you like me to get you another order of mash potatoes" at which time the gentlemen got up and left. The attitude of the manager and the quality of cleanliness is very low grade and the health department will be my next email. I am just upset that such a fine establishment such as Lubys (now owned by Pappadeaux's) has dropped to that low of a standard.. we now take our family to the Lubys at Central Mall which is clean, healthy and does not have metal, rodents, etc. in the food.. If the owners happen to check these remarks.. please Pappa Family... lets get the quality back.

The food is overpriced for the quality.
Also, we eat at Luby's in Houston because they prepare the salmon croquets. We miss having those as a favorite option.

I enjoy good bar-b-q that does not have alot of fat in it. I usually order a chipped beef sandwich with fries and a drink. In my opinion, they are #1 in my book!!! Donna

Great food. Recently renovated and is very nice. We had egg rolls and pepper steak and fried rice. All were very good. Fried rice was best I've had.
