The cafe is inspired by and named after the aromatic leaf of the Bay Laurel. Laurel leaves, also known as bay leaves, are often used fresh or dried to flavor sauces or marinades for meat or fish.
This ancient leaf was once a symbol of Apollo, the Greek god of light and the sun, truth and prophecy, and medicine and healing. Even today, centuries later, the leaf is considered an emblem of fame and prosperity.
Laurel is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. We will also begin serving breakfast on the weekends in April, 2010. The full lunch and dinner menus are available for carry-out.
