Restaurant Description

Knead Dough Pizzeria is a locally owned fast casual restaurant serving Sumner County and surrounding areas. The combination of made to order food, friendly fun staff and an appreciation for the guest, distinguishes them from other establishments. Our goal is to share our love of Italian cuisine in a warm environment while providing the same hospitality we offer guests in our own homes.

The menu offers a unique range of items featuring a hand tossed NY style pizza, chicken wings, hand breaded cheese sticks, chicken parmesan, pastas with homemade sauces, hoagies, salads with homemade dressings and more all made to order in an open kitchen. Knead Dough Pizzeria provides hand-cut meats, local produce, and offers homemade desserts. In addition to daily featured menu items, they offer cheese or pepperoni pizza by the slice, 1/2 Hoagies w/Fries or Chips and 1/2 Antipasto w/Drink for lunch Tuesday – Friday 11am – 2pm. Calzones Tuesday and Thursday until we run out

The kind of place where friends and family can get together, relax, enjoy great food and watch the high flying pizza dough in the open kitchen. There is a dedicated gaming area to play Nintendo Wii and sports on two 42” HDTV’s. This 76-seat pizzeria includes specialty sodas, fountain drinks, bottled water, draft and bottled beer.

We are a neighborhood pizzeria with affordable homemade food, NY style pizzas baked in a stone deck oven.

I disagree about the too much salt comment. I too am a culinary grad, and have been an executive chef for years. Maybe you had an isolated incident or are used to flavorless chain pizza. Knead dough is the closest thing to a true NY pizza around. The only pizza I have had so far in Nashville that is a true NY pizza is NY NY in Mt. Juliet (providence). The garlic knots are KILLER!

I have ate at this fine establishment about 10 times, having tried most of their pizzas.

I have been to culinary school, and not once did I detect an over abundance of salt, in fact I only tasted the fresh ingredients and do not recall a salt taste at all. The best pizza, well my favorite, is the Mediterranean. But, they are all tasty.
If you like Alfredo sauce at all, you MUST TRY the fettuccine Alfredo, its the best Alfredo I have had. If you like garlic and butter, the dough knots are killer.

The price? Yeah, its higher than papa johns and Dominos, but guess what? ITS ALL FRESH, MADE FROM SCRATCH stuff!!!! You can't get that anywhere else around here.

If you like beer, they have Sweetwater 420 on tap, and a great selection of gourmet beer on bottles.

Being from Chicago, I was really looking forward to some brick-oven style pizza. Sadly, I was extremely disappointed with Knead Dough Pizzeria in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Both pizza's were loaded with salt. I am far from being sensitive to salt in my foods, so I know there was a TON of salt in the dough and/or other ingredients. It was really out of control. If it weren't for the salty taste, the pizza would have tasted like cardboard.

When I was quoted the price for two pizza's, I did notice it was a little higher than just about any other place I've tried in
the local area, but because I was expecting some great pizza, I hardly let that be of concern. Well, now that I've paid over $30.00 for two horribly tasting pizza's, I am officially concerned. That will never happen again.

And as a side note, I can't figure out, in this day and age, why the owners of Knead Dough Pizzeria didn't bother having a fully-operational web site before opening their doors. Having an online menu should have been priority number one.

We had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant as we traveled east from Jackson, TN. We ordered a Mediterranean-type pizza that was fabulous. We don't have the good fortune of enjoying pizza like this in Jackson, so we will certainly stop again. We are going to let our friends know that this is a great place to stop on their way to and from the UT games in Knoxville! Open a second restaurant in Jackson, please!

Finally a great Pizza in Hendersonville that caters to kids and adults. The food is made in an open kitchen where you are entertained by the pizza makers tossing the fresh dough for each pizza. It is clean, staff is happy and friendly and I got to sit with my family enjoy a beer while the kids where either on chairs watching the dough fly high or play Wii in the little gaming area so us adults can enjoy our meal and conversation without hearing "are we going yet" instead I had to tell the kids "it is time to go"

The food was fresh and the portions are huge. We will be spending a lot of time here.
