Hot Hot Hot! Get the Curry with xtra gravy or the Hot and sour Chicken. You'll sweat your way through the meal and love it.

This place is great if you want spicy homestyle cooked chinese food. Nothing fussy or overpriced here. Do not let the outside stir you away. At dinner you have a better chance of a peaceful meal since at lunch the line can be out the door.

Go for the meat pie appetizer or the egg rolls to start. Dry sauteed string beans and the kung pao chicken also are key. We go at least once a month as we live a few blocks over. For abou $30 we both eat dinner and have plenty for lunches the next day too.

Great food at a reasonable price, friendly staff, the Ambience is a little stiff and cold but clean

Hunan Taste is a great "hole-in-the-wall" Chinese restaurant near the airport in San Jose. For about 5 to 6 bucks, you get a huge lunch plate with your choice of house specialties. I had the curry beef rice plate. Man, was that hot. Practically burned my tongue off. And I like hot food, which is what Hunan Chinese food is known for. Make sure you have plenty of water on hand - you'll need it.

The other dishes, for instance the chow mein, are fresh and lively. To me it tastes very authentic. And the atmosphere is not fancy, by any means. Just a basic little hole-in-the-wall. You'll see pictures of Joe Montana with his arm around the cook, as well as George Wendt of Cheers (Norm!) with his mouth full, hanging up on the wall. Norm knows his Chinese food!
