if you are into soul food, or just plain good ole down home cooking than Henry's is the place. Once you're done eating your breakfast, lunch or dinner treat yourself to their famous pumpkin pie.

I discovered Henry's with a co-worker about 8 years ago and haven't stopped going!! The service is excellent!! A nice young lady with respect for her elders takes your order and it's on!!! The food is the BOMB!! Try the SWEET POTATOE Pie!!! Go early to get the meatloaf!!!

I almost missed Henry's Delicatessen the first time I went there. It's well marked but on a fairly residential street so I actually bumped into it. Boy am I glad I did! It's well worth any trip because the food is amazing! It's good old fashioned soul food so if you're looking for a neo-fusion version, this is not the place for you. The candied yams are sweet and the macaroni and cheese will put you into a happy food comma. Remember that while Henry's has wonderful food, the title here is accurate, it's a carryout establishment. You will find good home cooking, great value for your money and friendly service. I'm not local but will go back every time I visit DC.
