My wife and I were traveling through Amarillo and I got a hankering for some BBQ. We are from a little town in East Texas, and are fortunate to have some of the best BBQ there is, thus we are well qualified to judge such an establishment. Overall, the visit was very enjoyable. In fact, everything was excellent with exception of the ribs, which in my opinion were fair to midling. They were a bit dry, and the ends were very tough. As I mentioned earlier, the meal was fitting, so we are sure to return next time we are in the area.

My wife & I eat at Dyers on a regular basis and hate to miss a week with their excellent food. We are always greeted by friendly staff and they always find us a table one the wall. I always take my business clients to Dyers for their excellent Bar B Que and the great Western atmosphere.

The Award winning spareribs were a HUGE disappointment. Did NOT fall off the bone, and the end piece was tough. I pulled off fatty portion before I could eat them. The sauce was excellent on a poor quality of meat. We stopped on a road trip from Phoenix to Detroit based upon reviews on the internet: What went wrong 2009 Winner ??

my husband had the all you can eat 3 meat[sausage,ham,ribs] 4 hours later through the night till 12 noon after peptobismol,tylenol for fever and motrin -later he is better.i did report to the manager but there didnt seem to be much concern.sometimes things need to be addressed and i dont think they care-JUST BEWARE

Service was fantastic and the pulled pork sandwich was tender and very flavorful. My wife is not a sandwich eater but said it was the best barbecue sandwich she has ever had. Sauce is excellent.

Well, I've had BBQ from Memphis, TN, and parts of TX, and I must say I was very, very disappointed with Dyers. After having read other reviews we decided to give this place a chance. With great regrets, I'm reporting that everything was dry and cold. I had the sampler plate: beef ribs, pork and brisket. The beef ribs were slightly moist, but still dry. The pork was so dry it was like eating cardboard. No amount of BBQ sauce made it edible. And the brisket, wow, the brisket was horribly dry, too. How can you mess up brisket? Regrettably, the only food that was edible was the onion rings and coleslaw.

We read the other reviews, and have to agree, it was great. I had the brisket plate and my wife had the rib plate. The rub on both was great, sweet tea was fantastic and the potato salad was outstanding. If we are back in Amarillo, we will be sure to stop by.

Dyer's Bar B Que boasted "the best ribs in Texas" and I got just that. Not to mention, my waitress was amazing, very polite and kind. Also, the portions were huge, and it filled me up!

Since I don't enjoy being embarrassed in public, my experience was poor. The bartender wouldn't serve me because she can't understand out-of-state IDs. The food was cold but had solid flavor. Decent bbq, but I'm certain there are better places to go in Amarillo.

Dyer's had excellent food and the atmosphere is typical for a Bar BQ restaurant. I thought the price for the food was extremely reasonable and would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to Amarillo.

We always stop at Dyer's Barbecue when we pass through Amarillo. The staff is very friendly and the food is great if you like ribs. Everything is fresh and it is always very well presented. I have just told 2 froiends who will be coming through amarillo they have to stop there for lunch or dinner.

Went to Google for "Best Barbque in Amarillo". "Dyers" came up all over the place. The "house special" ribs were dry and barely room temperature. The fries were the same. Packed house at luch tho. Maybe another old restaurant living on an old reputation. Really a let down when you are looking for authentic Texas style barbque.

My wife and I always stop at Dyers on our way from California back to our summer home in Michigan. You won't be disapointed. The service is great and the food is top notch.I love the Rib plate. Great cole slaw and the ribs are the best you can get. Very nice atmosphere.
