Santa Rosa mixes the beauty of wine country with diverse activities

Located just about 55 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles from the Pacific Ocean, Santa Rosa is a vacationer's paradise. In this beautiful setting you'll discover a wide array of activities, from winery tours to hot air balloon rides to dining, nightlife, and more. There are more than 200 wineries in Sonoma County and more than a dozen golf courses. Some of the world-class wineries located here include Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, Mantzanas Creek Winery, Paradise Ridge Winery, St. Helena Road Vineyards and Winery, and St. Francis Winery and Vineyards. After walking around one of the area's picturesque wineries, you may need some physical renewing. That can be taken care of at one of Santa Rosa's many relaxing spas. Among them are the Coldwater Creek Spa, Flamingo Resort Hotel and Conference Center, Wine Country Day Spa, and the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel and Spa. There also are plenty of places to eat in between winery tours, shopping, and spa visits. Among the favorite delicatessens in Santa Rosa are Paolo's Ravioli Deli, Pearson & Co. Fine Food to Go, Port of Subs, Sonoma Coffee Co., Traverso's Gourmet Foods and Wine, and Ulia's Delicatessen. Your time in Santa Rosa would not be complete if it didn't include a balloon ride with their breathtaking views from above. There also are a number of parks, jogging and bike trails, and the Pacific Ocean just a short drive away. Some of the museums in Santa Rosa include the Jesse Peter Native American Museum, the Pacific Coast Air Museum, the Charles M. Schultz Museum and Research Center, and the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens, which features furnishings and memorabilia of the famous horticulturist.
