Dixie is a great place for the whole family! Very kid friendly! Good food at a great price!

I was in Honolulu on business for 5 months during 2004. I ate at Dixie's on average once every two weeks. Dixie's became my favorite place to dine: good food, good service, and much better price than anything in Waikiki. Catfish, chicken, pulled pork, baby back ribs, mashed/baked cauliflower, collard greens...you name it, these folks know how to do barbecue. I'm a bit late with this review, but this is a good place to get a down-home meal in Honolulu.
This restaurant's hey day was in the 1980s and you can tell it. Old decor, Old menu and over priced seafood dishes. The food is definitely not very exciting nor worth the $30 per plate entree or $15 per plate appetizers. While the water views are nic

This is a perfect outing for seafood cuisine. The selection is of high quality and a makes a perfect ambience for a date; it's right out on the water and you get a beautiful view of the Honolulu and the harbor.

We were in Honolulu for two weeks and ate at the Dixie Grill three times. Our waitress, Elena was absolutely fantastic as was the food!

a diner from makaha, hi
went to dixie grill aiea, hawaii on 3/22/04, lunch. table of four total check one appitezer, no bar drinks $117.
we ordered the trash can buffet for four. the chicken was raw to the point of blood and juices running on plate, catfish under cooked, had to ask for the corn on cob from waitress who told us it wasn't a part of the meal. she checked and after 15 minutes returned with corn. the raw chix was replaced with a slab of ribs which took home beacause they arrived after our meal. my dinner plate was dirty with dried on food. the bbq sauce bottle lids were filthy. waitress failed to relace the plate of my lunch guest after the chix blood dripped all over it. the tableware bucket was dirty. all in all i was very dissappointed and will not return to dixie grill.
We just moved to Honolulu and have already eaten here three times. I've had the fish and chips basket each time--it was ahi once and kajike the other two times--all excellent!! Great plain and flavored iced tea too, but their fries and slaw need work. A little noisy, but fun, with great service! They have a new Aiea location that we haven't been to yet... Cute sandbox in the corner for kids to play in too!
