My wife and I make a point of having dinner in this restaurant at least once a month, so that she can have trippa and I can have grilled calamari, two authentic Italian dishes not all that easily found in restaurants. At Da Francesco both dishes are perfect! The only disappointment I've had has been with the gnocchi, which were too soft and mushy. I don't understand why one reviewer wrote of poor service: service at our dinners has always been exemplary and pleasant.

My husband is 100% Italian and his mother was a terrific cook. Since she passed away we've all missed her Sunday feasts. DaFrancesco's is the nearest thing we've found to replace Ma's meals. The chicken marsalla and chicken Mama Assunta are fantastic. The pasta dishes are heaven on earth. My only criticism is their bread basket is boring. I wish they would offer warm bread or rolls or at least a hearty bread with dipping sauce. With that addition, DaFrancesco's would be THE best Italian restaurant in Metro Detroit, bar none!
AMAZING ITALIAN FOOD. CLEAN, FRIENDLY, AND VERY EFFICIANT. BLOWS OTHERS OUT OF THE WATER, MAY HAVE COMPETITION WITH OTHERS IN ITALY BUT THIS IS A TASTE OF ITALY IN AMERICA. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND DA FRANCESCO TO EVERYONE

Very good food but the service is not what it should be. Waitstaff not properly trained or fully knowledgeable about menu items, doesn't check back often enough to resupply coffee, cream, butter, etc. And, seem disinterested in what they're doing.
