Well for those who like to bash this tiny restaurant, don't know Indian cooking. This whole in the wall restaurant maybe small, and may not have the cleanset eat off the floors thing going, but has the best Indian food ever.
The service is the best I've come across in a long time. They (meaning the wife)treat you like family and tend to your every need. The food is fantastic, even better then the one in Vestal and priced fare.My daughter who is living in India at the moment loves going there when she is home for the vegetarian dishes. And the curry dishes are some of the best.
So what this boils down to,is if you like Indian and are looking for really good food, this is your spot.It may not be the fanciest place, but if the Board of Health eats there and passes their inspections every year then thats fine by me.

I've read some poor reviews from those who have had the buffet. It would be well worth it to come again again during dinner hours. Their meals amazing - flavorful and large. Very authentic. So much better than Moghul in Vestal.

Currys is amazing. Run by a husband & wife who really care - it's like going to their modest home.

Other people think it looks dirty but check the dishes, they're the cleanest in town - go into the kitchen and the care they take is unmistakeable. Better yet, ask the Dept of Health I see them EAT there at lunch regularly.

It doesn't get anymore authentic than this. And I've lived in places with tons of Indian food too!

The best chicken vindaloo I have ever experienced. I was a student in Binghamton for four years, and frequented Currys whenever the need for high-quality food of insane temperature came upon me. One great part about the mom and pop nature of currys is that the owners get to know the regular clients; when I kept coming back and ordering my vindaloo extra spicy, it kept getting progressively more powerful. Wonderful! I suppose that the other menu offerings may be bland (the lentils always were), but if you order a spicy dish with spicy preparation, you will not be disappointed. Also recommended is the alu paratha.

As a transplant from another state where fabulous Indian food was of plenty..I decided to try out this place on court street to satisfy me "habit." I am sad to say, because my hopes were high, that the place was a dump and the food not authentic. Let me start with the surroundings. The floors were dirty and the entire place was falling apart. Next, the buffet offered little variety and less taste. The food was not seasoned properly and lacked flavor. The "nan" was an oily, hard pita, the chiken curry was mostly oil, the rice was about 2% Indian and the sides were similar oily versions of the curry.
NOTHING was authentic except for the Indian puppets on the wall. I feel a little bad for slammin' the place because I got the feeling that it is owned by an older couple who are probably just trying to "get by." The husband works in the kithchen and the wife is the hostess and only waitstaff. I can say this...she was extremely kind and her cucumber salad was light, fresh and flavorful. That said, it still was not worth $25.00 for one adult buffet and one child plus two cokes.
Oh, I almost forgot...they had no menu to order from which is why we had the buffet. I asked if other entrees could be made in the kitchen and I was told, "No...sorry..only buffet."

Ambience: sad looking; restroom in basement (one has to cross the kitchen for getting there); congested and badly furnished

Food: Too much salt in almost all the buffet items that was being served; careless cooking; sweet dish frankly speaking was a ball of sugar. Does not represent Indian food in even a remote way.

Service: The only saving grace. Hospitable. But it does little to assuage the other flaws.

Price: Seriously overpriced for the quality and variety

Final Word: AVOID!!!

In a place like Binghamton, Currys of India is an amazing find. There is a great variety of delicious food. The smallness of Currys adds to its atmosphere, allowing it to be an intimate dining experience. The owners, who also run the place, are exceptionally nice and charismatic. I love this place.

The best Indian cuisine in town. I've been searching for a place like this in Binghamton, and it has been tough to find. The meals are delicious (they have a very inexpensive lunch buffet, but I have not yet tried it). The dinners are ample, full of flavor, and not to be missed. The malai kofta is expert, the nan tender, and the veggie samosa are the best I have ever had.

I absolutely love this restaurant!! It's about as big as a closet, but that just makes it feel cozy. I'm vegetarian & would highly recommend it to other vegetarins because there's quite a large selection of meat-free and dairy-free dishes. The entrees are big enough to take the leftovers home & you have another meal's worth.

"curries" is a great find for binghamton residents, esp. vegetarians. the food is tasty (will alter to mild, med, hot for dinner), and the lunch buffet is cheap (5.50-all you can eat). the 2 owners are the only staff, and they are so nice. ...it's as big as a large closet, not much else, but i love it. i hope it never leaves us. my boyfriend loves the creamy spinach chicken dish and i'm hooked on their "chick peas cooked in the popular north indian style."

We got there exactly at 2 pm when they were closing but they were kind enough to let us get to go boxes from the buffet. The food was okay..a little on the bland side for Indian food but edible. The bread however was terrible - greasy, hard and cold. The restaurant was very small and cramped - very little ambiance.

The lunch buffet is an excellent value. The food was tasty, except the bread which was too thick and cold. There were vegetarian entrees and good curry chicken. Not much atmosphere - very small.
