Mexican Food & Culture History

Restaurant Description

West Maui's best bet for handmade modern Mexican food with a gourmet touch. Inspired by interior Mexican cuisine. Hip, casual atmosphere.

This is a small place with a big menu chock full of some of the best Mexican food you'll find away from the mainland. The counter service and paper/plastic ware are typical of fast food, but everyone in our group thought the food was far better than the presentation. Great tacos al pastor. Killer spinach and mushrooms enchiladas (vegetarian). I had the chipotle scented rotisserie chicken with handmade corn tortillas and some very good black boracho-style beans. Inexpensive. Kid friendly. And located in the same center as 'Ulalena, the theatrical show. A great place to grab a bite before soaking up a little Hawai'ian history. Kudos to Cilantro.
