WORST Mexican food I have ever eaten! We got burritos with enchalada sauce and it was horrible. Neither me nor my husband could finish the food and we were in shock. The chicken was boiled and had no flavor and the enchalada sauce was discuting. And to top it all of he got food poisoning from it and has been throwing up for the past two days. I would not recommend Casa Hererra to my enemies. Don't go save your money and get a microwave dinner, it'll taste a lot better.

A great place to eat, but not pretentious! We are there at least once a week. Diner from Dallas is exactly correct about family members and about Sally. I've eaten Mexican food in New Mexico, El Paso, Pecos, San Antonio, Lubbock, Dallas, Balmorrhea and many places in between. Casa Herrera is always better than any other Mexican food, anywhere! Guacamole is to die for, always fresh. Queso is a great appetizer. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Chris and Liz Herrera are gracious hosts and their food is appreciated by visiting celebrities, in addition to locals. Adriana is also a great waitress, but hasn't been there as long as Sally. When the weather permits the patio dining is equally nice, especially when the Sonic Cruise Night is taking place involving the adjacent Mall of Abilene parking lot. Lots of great cars to see and enjoy. They use sauces instead of chili. Real Mexican food. Family restauranteurs for decades, and it shows!

Mexican
Excellent mexican food. Potatoes, Eggs, Rice, Beans-- all the staples not just the ordinary 'run for the border' stuff with cloth napkins.

This is a great place to go if ever in Abilene.
Family owned and operated,You'll always see a Family member there with a smile, and warm greeting. Food is Goood!!!! If you like spicy, eat
chile relleno dinner with rancera sauce.
Daily lunch buffet is good too. I prefer to order
Hot food though,. Best beans, and rice in town!!!!!
Always clean! check the bathrooms!!!!
Ask for Sally, a server whos been there for over
20 years. tell her about this review, she'll get
a kick about it. Family Member is always seating you, with a greeting, say hello!!!!
