We went on a friday night and our reservation had not been taken which was very rude. Then we were unable to take advantage of the drink specials because we had a table in the restaurant. I mean come on it is the same restaurant you should be able to get a drink at the same price no matter where you sit....bar or restaurant. The only reason we did not sit in the bar area is because of the smoking!!!

I have been to Cafe J on a number of occasions and have been met with a very snobby hostess crew each time...the only reason I have come back is because of the atmosphere and the food which are good. However I will not go back ever again. The lack of hospitality and service and feeling snubbed will keep me and all my friends and family away from this establishment. It's too bad really. I don't understand why a restaurant like this wouldn't want all the business they could have instead of catering to the very rich elite of Lubbock.

YOU BET.......ITS NOT A FANCY PLACE...ONE OF THOSE HOLE IN THE WALL PLACES, BUT IT THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN.......THE SERVICE IS VERY PERSONABLE. THEY ARE THERE JUST FOR YOU AND THE FOOD IS GREAT.....WE WOULD NEVER GO ANY WHERE ELSE.....

This is a old family restaurant. The food is the same as it was 30 years ago. It is the Best in Town. We always make this our first stop when we come to town for a game....I have never been dissapointed.....And you will not either
