The bar-b-que shrimp we ordered were impossible to peel - they must have been leftover from another day. When we asked the waitress about the shrimp she did not seem concerned that we could not eat our meal. Her service was non-existent - she did not offer any soft drink refills - but we had to flag her down when we needed something. We will not be returning.

The food is great; the price is very, very reasonable; the service is mediocre. If you KNOW you have an hour and a half to kill...eat there. If you go during an "off" time, you'll get in and out quickly. They have one of the best spinach & artichoke dips in town.
My family and I visited the Hi Ho Restaurant in Metairie, Louisiana October 18th of this year. My wife introduced me to Hi Ho Sandwiches in Hammond in the 60's and my family has loved them ever since. I think people that are trying them for the first
...
Loved the atmosphere, the food was delicious. We had breakfast - I had American Traditional. My friend had Mexican. Both were good. Good value for price. And the grits are good, too.
Hi-Ho. That's all that needs to be said. As a yankee-gone-rebel, the 1960 Hi-Ho barbecue is as unique today as it was to this "Yankee gone rebel from Jersey".
Can't find it anywhere but in Hammond. Enjoy, I'll be back soon.

I frequented Brady's more in the past and then reduced my visits because of the service. Unless you luck out and get one of the more experienced, young ladies you may be in for a disappointment. We noticed the service fell off and their portion size also so we stopped going there weekly as we did in the beginning. I can not believe their management does not see this happening, but unless someone wants to take the time to lodge a formal complaint nothing will be done.

Brady's has some of the best service and food around. The people that do not like the restaurant, are the ones who are rude. I have witnessed people who do not tip. How can you not tip a waitress? That is how they get paid. It is ridiculous how cheap people are these days. Other than that, top place to eat in Hammond.

The service at Brady's has gotten so bad, don't even bother going unless you have a couple of hours. It will take at least 15 minutes to even have your order taken, then another 30 minutes before you get your meal. And the waitresses can be downright rude, especially to older people.

As a use to be frequent customer of Brady's. Myself and a freind went to eat on 3/15/08 at 8:45PM. After waiting 15 minutes, I approached the hostess and told her no one had waited on us she rudely said that the kitchen was closed. The time was 9:02 and other people had been waited on after we had sat down. This is not the way to take care of regular customers. I will not be eating at Brady's any time soon. What a shame for the service from what it used to be.

My wife and I recently moved here from Alabama b/c I received a job offer at the local college in hammond (SLU). We have been going to Bradys for a while now because we thoroughly enjoy it. Not only is the menu wonderful, but the friendly waitstaff does an excellent job of making us feel right at home. GREAT food, GREAT service, and a GREAT atmosphere...what more could you ask for?

Two trips to Bradys, first time good food but slow service. The second trip I did not even get to eat. Seat yourself was told to us as we walked in then a 15 min. wait and not accknowledged at all. Obviously we did not eat there that night and did not return. Bradys good food but bad service. I suggest if you have to eat there order ahead and take it home.

Brady's is a place to go where the locals eat--for lunch or dinner. College waitress are attentive and offer good service. The menu is varied from sandwiches, seafood, salads to steaks--grilled and fried food so there should be something for everyone. They have a daily special and usually offer two soups. A good overall family restaurant---I've been eating there for over twenty years.
