I have now eaten at Blackfish twice. Both times, I was impressed with the service and the outstanding presentations and preparations. Having sent back my glass of wine for, simply, another type of glass, our waitress was not only accomodating but had a very good sense of humor and sense of decorum.

The sauces on everything from starters to main courses are sensational and should not be overlooked when picking a restaurant which challenges all the senses.

Would highly recommend to travellers and locals!

We had a fabulous time at this hidden restaurant in Truro. The food was the best I've had on the Cape (as far as non clam shack dining goes)(I grew up on Cape Cod and live in NYC)-it was sophisticated, but not overly trendy. Nice dining room-agree not for children. Thought the servings were appropriate, the food was fresh, and the service was right on. The details of the restaurant are well thought out and the menu offers a nice array of choices-all of which sounded fantastic. Had a great time and would definitely go again. (try the pork shoulder!)

Spectacular decor and awesome food. Bar is very hip and modern, yet cozy. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about her microbrews. Back dining room is cut into the side of a hill, yet still has lots of glass through which to peer at the beautiful flowers and exotic ground cover outside. My girlfriend and I loved the breads, the apps, and both main dishes. Waiter could have been slightly more polished, but he was friendly and attentive. Definitely a new favorite.

Food&sevice excellent. Portions could be a tad larger. Not a restaurant for small children as it offers sophisticated entrees [no chicken fingers and fries] : seating is tight and one cranky kid could ruin the ambiance of the entire dining area.

excellent food, lousy lousy waitress last fall 2007, hostess who could care less, unbelievably bad service what a shame with Eric's cuisine (high quality), high prices; small portions

Blackfish has earned temple-like status in Truro. The dining room features the works of local artists from Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet, and the menu features some of the best culinary artistry in Massachusetts. A must-do when on the Outer Cape. A real gem.

Three of us ate at the Blackfish in November. We each had three courses and wine. All six portions of appetizers and entrees were extraordinary. The gnocchi, in particular was one of the lovliest dishes I've ever eaten. All three wines were excellent. The desserts, however, lacked the depth and imagination of the savory courses. They were beautiful but pedestrian. The bread, a simple, white pane di tavola was perfect.

Although new only in fall 2007, Blackfish needs to train waitstaff. They ignored our requests, ignored our daughter's presence (she is 23 not 2!) and our guests; Food is excellent a shame the staff has such attitude
