This is a must-visit. A little old confectionary store with cute candy items with a soda fountain type little restaurant in the back. Chocked full of historical furnishings and a written history of Beernstens as well. They serve soups & sandwiches, sodas and ice cream treats. Their ice cream sundae menu is incredible and sundaes are huge! The dining area is smaller and groups over 6 would have to split into two or more booths, which we did once but we were right next to each other so still "together". It is very nicely set in a soda fountain decor - it'll take some of our older folks right back to their childhood in Mayberry RFD! Their menu is simple (soups, sandwiches, chili) but what they do they do well. Prices are very reasonable. It is located within walking distance from the Maritime Museum and we have made quite a few "day trips" to the museum and Beernsten's over the years. My kids are grown now but we did another day trip for my birthday recently and it took us all back to some very fun memories! Beernsten's is just a really fun place and if a anyone's coming through Manitowoc, it's a fun and quaint "must-see" for lunch, maybe just for a Sundae, and at least for some chocolate! It's downtown on 8th Street (1-way north) just north of the river. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Very good soups, sandwiches, dinners, desserts. Large range of prices depending on whether you choose a simple sandwich plate verses an entire dinner, but prices are reasonable across the board. Dining room is small (8-10 tables) but comfortable - d ...
