I could smell the rotten food as I stepped into the storefront to pickup my phone order. The lobby and counters were covered in a sheen of grease and dust. The side dishes in the glass front cooler were visibly bad. I paid and left after the Owner/Counterman got angry and said he would call his friend the cop if I didn't pay. The BBQ chicken was covered in a thick honey based sauce to cover its' rancid order. I threw it in a dumpster on the way home. A nieghbors kid told me later that he once worked for the shop and they had no concept of food sanitation, were under almost constant Health Dept. warnings and the owner was some crazy eastern european guy who liked to threaten people with a pistol and brag about his police connections.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 13 years. The best BBQ Ribs and Broasted Potatoes anywhere! With ribs this good how can anyone NOT get BBQ sauce on their lips, nose, and fingers! I'm jus saying! :)

My wife and I have been to Smokey's of Westland quite a few times. We have yet to find a dinner we did not enjoy. There ribs are the best ribs I have ever had in my life, better than Famous Daves. The fish dinners are out of this world
