a diner from East bay
We had eaten here before and it was a very good experience. This time the owner was there and she for some reason did not like the way we looked. She would not let us sit where we wanted to (we had reservations) and looked dissapointed when we said we did. She was quite rude. The waiters notcied too becuase when I asked they said they were surprised how rude she was. Others camein without reservations and she let them sit where they wanted. Another couple came in she did not like and sat them 4 inches from us with plenty of other tables avialable. My husband complained when we left and told the owner we did not like her "class" system. The reply was "ok" in a cheery voice and a smile. It was an awful feeling. Beaware!

I feel that this small french restaurant provided the greatest meal for the money. The prixe fixe menu is a great deal and offers great food. My wife and I both found the service to be superb, which is sometimes unheard of in a french restaurant.

It's the gem of the Richmond district in S.F. IT's been open for nearly four years, owned and run by Philippe and Ellen Gardelle who are on-site every night closely supervising everything, chatting at tables, racing out the door after you to say goo ...
