Anchor House Seafood

Hands down some of the best home cooked food I've had since the last time i sat at my grandmother's table. The service was excellent and the owners and staff were very welcoming. A relaxed atmosphere rounded out the wonderful dining experience.

May I have some more stars please? My wife and I recently moved to the area and have discovered the Anchor House. We have become regulars and always feel like we are visiting old friends every time we stop in. The soups are the best I've had. The beef tips, Rib eye, baby back ribs, broiled flouder are among my favorites. The Gyro's are the best I've had since visiting Greece in the early 80's. I've only tried one desert, the cheese cake is just too good to pass up. Breakfast is the best value I know of, so yes I would give more than 5 stars but that is what I am limited to for this review.

It seems unfair for this to be called a seafood restaurant, although seafood is served there. It used to be more of a seafood restaurant than it is now. Currently, their menu has one item about which I'd like to rave -- the tenderloin medallions, served with peppers and onions over rice. Fantastic! Just right! Good value. I have enjoyed the onion-smothered hamburger steak, as well. Everyone is given a cup of soup, as an appetizer, which is always a treat. Anchor House is open on major holidays, too -- even on Christmas Day. In fact, for about three hours on this past Christmas Day, the Anchor House treated its customers to free lunch. Free! Anchor House is worth the drive.

Our first time at the Anchor House was Saturday August 14, 2010. I am not a big fan of seafood...so I was pleasantly surprised by the myriad of menu choices. I found out the Anchor House is under new ownership (for about a year now). The host couple and their daughters were just wonderful. The food and service was outstanding. It is great to know this restaurant is here and I wish the new owners much success! I had the best Gyro dinner there. We have lived in the area for 4 years and I thought I would never find another restaurant to match the Greek restaurant we went to in our old state. I wish Anchor House was in a more populated area...so more people could know just how great the people and the food is....We were back for dinner Tuesday August 17th...We tried other (non seafood) items from the menu...and yet again, the experience and taste was wonderful.

Great food, good prices, clean, friedly atmosphere. Pass by there when going up 85. They did a hell of a job redecorating the place. Thanks for being there.

Our adult children/spouses and two-year old grand daughter went Sun 4/18 at 11:50. We were greeted warmly by Agna. She noticed our grand daughter had immediately gone to look at the fish tank.
Agna invited her to help feed the fish after we ate.

Our food choices ranged from 2-choice seafood, Alaskan White fish, Baked Ziti, Lasagna, Ham steak, meatloaf, and chicken strips. Only Great grandma ( who does not care for garlic in any form) was not impressed. Seven adults ate for $61. I will definitely be back.

This week I went at th Anchore House and I had PIZZA! It was the best pizza I ever had! And there new manues were greate. I shure will go there at list once a week and thay also told me that thay are opend for lunch too!

Sorry to say but the Anchor House as we know it is no more. It was sold and is now open with the same name but with new owners.The service was bad, the food was ok but nothing like the old Anchor House. It is now A Greek restaurant and seafood is not a main dish. Very unhappy overall and will not return. 25.00 for two to eat lunch.

Always good seafood. Service is good. Hushpuppies are wonderful!!! Prices are reasonable. We eat there a lot.
