About Amedeo's Italian Restaurant
Raleigh, NC is a long way from Reading, PA, yet Amedeo "Dick" DeAngelis made the trek to play football for the mighty NC State Wolfpack in 1954. Playing on a scholarship, he was a long way from home and he greatly missed "home cooking". The idea of opening a small Italian restaurant seemed the most effective way to alleviate the longing. He utilized homemade recipes from his mother and grandmother and in 1963, a 12-seat restaurant opened on Western Boulevard in Raleigh. Since that time Dick, along with his mother, wife Betty, children, and grandchildren and many loyal employees have expanded "Amedeo's" into a premier eating establishment with a seating capacity now of over 200!

This restaurant lacks everything! Good management, cooks, service, cleanliness, EVERYTHING! There were roaches on the floor and its not the 1st time I have heard of that. Someone needs to shut that place down! We were rudely treated and will not be visiting again.

Love it here. Karaoke on Tuesday's is awesome, and there's always something going on. Food's pricey for not getting sides but drink's are usually fair priced.

Authentic Italian cuisine & great service! The live entertainment in the lounge on Mondays & Tuesdays is very romantic and adds to the experience!
