Rochester Restaurant Guide

I called in a carry out order from Zorba's. The extremely rude woman who took my phone order pretty much wrecked my opinion of this restaurant. The food wasn't bad but I won't be going back.

I miss the original Zorba's!
Since Zorba's was acquired by a new owner it has gone downhill!
Things have been cheapened!
No more flat bread with soup, one extra napkin only per table, watered down hummus...cheap, cheap, cheap!
Also, many of the waitresses there work for partial tips only - while owner drives an Escalade! Something is definitely not right here, if not down right illegal!

I have been to plenty of Greek restaurants, and I have actually been to Greece, and YES, this food is authentic Greek. I have no idea what that other reviewer is talking about. I have been to Zorba's twice while in town to go to Mayo Clinic, and both times the food was delicious. My favorites to order are always saganaki, spanakopita, tzatziki, and souvlaki. I thought they were delicious and authentic. They have a very nice selection of Greek cookies as well. I will have to try them to see if they have my favorite!

I only tried Zorba's takeout food so I can't comment on the service while dining in the restaurant. I absolutely hated the food. I've been around and I know good Greek food. In my opinion the Greek food Zorba's serves tastes very low quality compared to other Greek restaurants I've eaten at in places like St. Paul, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and especially New York. I even tasted better in Texas. Rochester, MN is small, but that is no excuse. I can't believe people are giving this place 4 and 5 stars. I've only eaten their food once and that will be the last time.

Its a nice restaurant the food is very delicious but there are many things they need to improve on like cleaning the plates and silver ware a little better

Went 2 times. First was great with great server. But the second time have to argue with bill as they count all the kids and automatically add grutity. How rude, definitely not kids friendly like not even want to server our kids. Guess better check who's the server before sitting down. To top it the second server pratically just toss food at our table and everything we have to ask. She doesn't even come back to check if additional need like extra napkins or even have to ask 3-4 times before getting drinks refill. Take that, we are one of the 3 tables in there at the time. Compare to the previous time, there's tons of people, yet the server was so attentive. They better fire the 2nd round server.

Fantastic Food, definitely try the saganaki. One of the best Greek places I've found in town.
