Dinner and the new owner calls the cops?

Zero stars for the new owners.

Upon buying a house in Waterford we stopped by Taste of Thai on a day it was closed for remodeling and we went next door to try the Mexican food. Things were good under the former owners and we brought many friends there.

Tonight my 75 year old father in law and I dined in there and learned that as of last Saturday there are new owners and a new menu. We tried some dishes and ordered a take out order for my wife.

The waitress, a 50ish thin woman with glasses asked why my Father-in-law was taking pictures with his ipod touch. I explained that he is visiting from China and takes pictures of different foods and of himself enjoying them to show to his friends, classmates, retired colleagues in China. I thought that was that...

While settling in to finish our meal the waitress walked back with one of Waterford's finest, and I really do mean that as he was very professional and polite. I was appalled that the waitress and presumed new owner had the audacity to call the police on my 75 year old Father-in-law because when I wasn't looking he had even taken her photo. OK bad form without asking but she could have asked us to delete it as my Father-in-law offered when we were speaking to the police officer.

So here is the deal, we will never go back there again. If you liked the old place and want to stay with the new, I would suggest FaceBooking the whole adventure enmass with as many people as you can. To think, while eating I was thinking how could I bring more business their way. Well that is definitely out the window now.

Try at your own risk. Perhaps the new owners will call the cops on you too?

Cute little Mexican restaurant (mostly carry-out business). Excellent tacos, enchiladas, nachos--and the "Mexican Mountain" which is a delicious Mexican sandwich!
