I was rather disappointed with my lunch meal at Sawyer's today (6-25-08). The UT, Knoxville area now has three fast-food chicken restaurants on the Strip: Sawyer's, Zaxby's, and Guthrie's. I figured Sawyer's might actually step up their service and food due to the competition; however, this wasn't the case. Unlike the other two chicken places, I was told that I couldn't exchange my cole slaw for an extra sauce. I was disappointed but what I really disliked is that my friend asked the same thing when he got to the same cashier and he DID receive an extra sauce for his cole slaw. I didn't know why the place would allow some things for certain customers and not for others. Also, the music and background noise was at a high level and I could barely hear the rest of my dining group. Those coupled with the chicken being average or slightly below the Zaxby's and Guthrie's quality makes me believe that Sawyer's is the #3 chicken restaurant on the Strip. It's ok... but I'd go down Cumberland a few blocks and get a better chicken restaurant, if I was you.
