This place has been around for over 50 years. The enchiladas are amazing and the sauce is a non tomato based sauce so of course it's different. The restaurant does have a sweet salsa which is their speciality but they do offer a "traditional" salsa too. The place has been seat yourself it's entire tenure, why change something that's not broken? It's a country cafe not a upscale downtown restaurant. Pull up a chair and talk to the locals.

WOW!!! Definitely not your neighborhood cantina, but the cheese enchiladas are amazingly good! Make sure that you are hungry as they are big and cheesy!

This place gives a home feel like mom's kitchen. Great food. Great service. We will be back.

This is my favorite mexican food in Amarillo. They are very nice there and always recognize me and know my order. They give rapid refills on chips and salsa (which I abuse), and their prices are very reasonable. I hope you like cheese!

Speaking of price, I just want to make it known that there is nowhere in Amarillo that my fiance and I can both get a full entree and soda, I can get dessert, he can get beer, and the food is amazing to boot for under $25.00. I have had slow service ...

Very irritating

We went here because there were 2 reviews that said they had wonderful enchiladas, the enchiladas were terrible-I guess it was the sauce that was so bad, the salsa was not salsa-it tasted like couple of pepper seeds thrown into a bowl of ketchup. It was seat yourself and there were no tables, there was a lady sitting at 2 tables pushed together, so we waited, when one became available, the lady decided she wanted that one even though we were already there, we moved to the table she had been at and the waitress apologized many and got us nachos for the inconvenience, that was the only nice thing about the restaurant, the staff. However, when it's busy it should NOT be seat yourself!

I was referred here by a hotel clerk. She told me they had the best enchiladas in Amarillo. In my opinion County Pride has the best enchiladas in the United States! Awesome! A little obscure and off the beaton path but worth the hunt to find. I'm a truck driver and love good food. Country Pride is up there with among the best I've tried. I look forward to my next trip up there so I can eat there again. I wonder how good that chicken fried steak is?
