The Garden Restaurant is one of my favorites in Marin. I first came to know of it years ago when my girlfriend at the time brought me all the way up to Novato from Tiburon to have dinner there.
She probably would not have approved of my later proposing to my wife there!
Anyway, my wife and I love going back on a regular basis. Tonight I had the Prawns with a tubule salad. My wife had the risotto – both were excellent! We enjoy the friendly, family atmosphere. Hilda, the owner, was there with her husband, and struck up a conversation. They support local artists by displaying local creations on the walls. – It’s different every time we go. When the weather is better, we love eating outside in the garden.
Be careful not to confuse ‘Garden’ Restaurants in Novato! This one serves Mediterranean food and is at 333 Enfrente, near Ignacio Blvd. There is a different, Chinese Garden Restaurant further North, on Redwood Blvd, and a Shanghai Garden restaurant at 471 Entrada Drive in Novato, and even more in San Rafael and Petaluma.

Our favorite restaurant, period. Their food is outstanding, especially their special dishes. Very friendly and welcoming. Great ambience. Prices are not cheap, but always worth every penny. They have served some of the most memorable dinners I have ever had.
