Anyone who has ever eaten good Mexican food will not like this food. Simply the worst I have ever had. All tasteless, refried bean very dry, rice bathed in tomatoe juice, hardly any meat, sweet watery salsa. But the strawberry shortcake was excellent, enough for two.

Since moving back to Maine two years ago, we have dined at Cervesas many times. We have yet to be dissapointed. The food is always excellant. Service has always been prompt and friendly. The ambience is especcially to a history buff and a Kokopelli fan.

Just went there for the first time with friends. We had heard about it and were passing through Newport on the interstate. The prices were reasonable, menu interesting, and the food was great. Such an improvement over the other local Mexican restaurant chains. Will go there anytime passing through Newport at dinnertime. There was a short wait because the place was full on a Saturday evening. Seems to be very popular and all the patrons seemed happy. The temperature inside was a little too warm and they should have had air conditioning on.

Love, Love, Love this place! Great food... As one review said, they do charge for the extras but I still spend much less than any other restaurant I go to. When I want fast, cheap, great food this is where I go.

I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that nickles and dimes you to death. They say the reason they do it is to keep the cost under $10.00 but by the time they finish charging you for anything extra it comes well over $10.00. Went and got an order of Nachos with out the sour cream, guacamole, black beans or chili, and asked for onions, and tomatoes and salsa. They charged me the same amount as if the Nachos came with everything on it, and then charged me additional for the tomatoes, onions and salsa. $1.00 each for the onions and tomatoes and $.79 for a very small ramekin of salsa. When I asked for additional salsa they told me it would be an additional cost.
When I told them that I didn't want the nachos because I wasn't informed of the extra charge in the onset just after I received it. I was told I still had to pay for it. I will never go there or recommend this to anyone.

I went there several times and loved the food but the service SUCKED, I didn't want my butt kissed but just being pleasant was obviously too much to ask. Great food but the waitresses lack personality, they definitely cater to the locals. We are from a way "Bangor" and unless you have all of your teeth you are considered from away. They thought that we were summer folk but actually year round natives, taxpayers. They come to your table with a blank deer in the headlights look, and just look at you as if to say duh! but several times just said "whatta ya want". It is almost eerie like a scene from a Stephen King movie. Newport is a strange town no matter which business you go in. I Avoid Newport altogether especially for food.

This is my favorite place to eat & I live 780 miles away! Since moving from the area I am having a hard time dealing without a trip to Cervesas when I get the craving. The menu has a nice selection, the food is wonderful and the service is always fast & friendly. I highly recommend this place! Heading back to Maine in a week and a half and this will be one of my first stops!

The food is excellent. The waitresses are horrible... lazy, they act like zombies, they only want your tip and dont care to give even moderately good service. They would probably prefer if you gave the cook your order and picked up your meal from the kitchen. "What do you want, here ya go. Duh! Good thing that the food is good. I'd rather give a tip to the chefs, more deserving.

A wonderful dining experience. Great food, service, and the place is beautifully decorated in a southwestern theme. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
