Cafe Navarro is about as unusual as a hospital cafeteria can be! This cafeteria was once the "it" place for business and public alike to dine, and it is aiming to regain it's lost glory. While you still grab a tray and walk around a big u-shaped table to get your food, the selections available are definitely NOT your average fare! On any given day you will find everything from Grilled Tilapia w/Asparagus sauce to Lamb and Feta Cheese wrap-style sandwiches! The soups and sides are no less ambitious, and all are excellent. The current food service director has built a top-notch kitchen crew, including two outstanding chefs who together are putting out some of the most creative and surprising dishes on the Riverwalk, never mind it's humble outer appearance. The deal closer for this breakfast and lunch sleeper are the prices. The daily special, which features entree, 2 sides and a 16oz. drink for $4.95 will leave you happy as well as satisfied. Who'd have thought?
