Celeberated a birthday in March with a girlfriend @ Vigeneto and everything was wonderful. Didn't really think they could top it but back with dear husband last week and it was out of this world. Fort Wayne's true class act!

Vigneto is a wonderful addition to the southwest area of Fort Wayne for elegant and casual dining. Although it is presented as a "tapas" concept of dining, the dishes presented can range from small, appetizer sized to full dinner entree, and the main inspiration of the dishes is not Spanish so much as new American, with selections ranging from indulgent (kobe beef, lobster rolls, roasted goat cheese) to healthy and tasty (salads, fresh seafood). In general Fort Wayne has conservative, Midwestern food habits, with an emphasis on comfort foods and large quantities. Admirably, Vigneto focuses on quality instead: quality ingredients, beautiful presentations, a respectable wine list, and attentive service. We were there for dinner on a Thursday, and the atmosphere was warm and muted. The entrees arrived in a timely manner and the recommended wines were beautifully paired to the entrees. On a Saturday, it was crowded and busy, with a 20-30 minute wait if you had no reservation...a good sign of quality in a new restaurant. Vigneto is a good place for a romantic date or to meet colleagues for dinner.
