Vera's WAS the best of this area before Katrina. A laid back place to enjoy the local best. We do hope they come back!

I've eaten at Vera's twice, if you are fortunate enough to be seated in the back room it isn't a bad place to be, waterfront on Lake Ponchartrain. But the front dining room is congested, There are better seafood options, you expect a bit ramshackle but the long wait ,was not justified by the quality of the food.

We often go on Saturday night for their delicious steak. The taste and price can't be beat. Place isn't fancy but it's not trying to be. It is like "Cheers" bar with great food. Bonus for Vets - Military photos and artifacts adorn every wall.
