 I have lived in Slidell for 17 years. I was always a big fan of South Seas and have sent many family and friends to dine here. Since the new building has been built the quantity of food is half of what you used to get, the quality is very average, the prices went up tremendously and the lady that owns the place has the worst attitude I have ever seen toward her guests! If you ask for any extra condiments she acts like you have asked her to give you the food for FREE! She should not be at the front taking orders. She needs to be kept in the back kitchen where she cannot be heard. I rarely ever go to this rest. anymore for all of these reasons. It is also, VERY INCONSISTENT!! I am sure they have seen a big decline in their buss. since they opened the new building. Also, the sushi is NOT GOOD! Never again. We have found new Chinese Rest.. Good Bye to South Seas. Should have stayed the small not so attractive building with great food! The really tall guy that works here is a great,m polite guy! He is always pleasant!

I've read the negative reviews, but we have only had positive experiences there. Good sushi...but what we especially like is their lemon chicken.The best we've had since we lived on the West Coast! That's a must try, and get the white meat. Prices are very reasonable...and they have plate specials that include fried rice, egg roll, and an entree for about $8.00. The restaurant also has a nice ambience to it. Usually packed on weekends. We think it is the best Chinese food on the Northshore.

The resturant was not busy. Our waitress was obviously too busy with her friends in the back to pay attention to our table. The sushi was ok but my chicken appetizer was horrible. The waitress didn't even come back to check on us. I had to ask for her help. And she didn't give us any alternative to our horrible chicken. Nor did she adjust our bill since I didn't eat that appetizer. I wouldn't recommend this place. We don't plan to go back either. When South Seas was small the food was much better.

My boyfriend and I recently went to this restaurant for the lunch special which is 8 dollars. When we were given the bill the waitress had charged me 16.50 for my lunch. When we politely pointed out the error the waitress became hostile and said it was our fault (not sure how). The management refused to fix it and we had to pay 16.50 for an 8 dollar lunch. We have been repeat customers for more than a year and now we will never go back. They not only lost out on our business but they lost my family's and friends' business. They don't care about the customer as long as they get their money, even if they have to over charge you. If you want honest service this is not the place to go. I will never go to South Seas again!

Ask for Sushi chef David and get ready for a serious sushi experience. I like to try almost anything sushi and like for the chef to surprise me with an original creation. I have never been disappointed.

We purchased $70 worth of sushi (carry-out) and the lady stated that the wasabi and ginger were in the containers. We then drove to Gulfport for a dinner date with friends and discovered "NO WASABI/GINGER"! I called them immediately and they refused to refund unless I drove back with the food.....WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN!

The greatest Sushi place around. I drive all the way from Covington to eat here. If you sit at the Sushi bar, the preparers make you feel very welcome. The Chinese food is also great - I have never had a bad dinner here. The food is hot and they give you more than enough!

South Seas is number 1. Use to make the trip to Vets Hwy. years ago. Now I will be making the trip to Slidell for the best in Chinese food. Have a South Seas Paradise. What a drink!!!!

My favorite Chinese in town...full bar selections and a huge menu..ample portions , knowledgable waitstaff
