We stopped at Chardonnay on a Thursday night without a reservation and were seated promptly. I ordered the grapefruit-goat cheese salad and they were out of goat cheese, so I substituted parmesan. The parmesan cheese worked very well with the salad. We ordered the Gnocci and it was delicious. The gnocci was light and flavorful. We ordered creme brulee and also the phyllo wrapped brownie. Both dessert were very rich. The prices are comparable to most fine dining restaurants in the Twin Cities. The service was outstanding. We would definitely return.

The food was perfect, I would go back again just for more of their crabcakes or the brownie wrapped in phyllo with creme anglaise... unforgettable. The service was quick, the ambience was very romantic throughout the entire establishment. I would come back every time that I am in town. Highly reccomended... worth the price.

If you have a lot of money to spend on dry tastless food, stop on in. I don't mind spending upwards of $100 per plate now and then for a good meal, but this meal was a terrible dissapointment. My chicken appeard to have dragged itself accross a desert and died on my plate it was so dry. Very good ambiance and service, But food has to tast pretty good to be this expensive. Steer clear of this overpriced establishment. There are too many good restaurants in Rochester to wast your time here.
