About Vernon's Cafe
In the Youngstown-Warren-Niles, Ohio area treat yourself to one of the finest Italian Restaurants in the State of Ohio if not the Northeast and Midwest. No kidding. Vern Cesta, the owner and chef at Vernon's Cafe offers the best pastas, veal, seafood and the best Black Angus beef around. Start your meal out with Vernon's appetizers: Greens, Calamari and homemade hot peppers in oil. Vernon's has an extensive wine selection put together by the former wine sommelier from Alberini's Restaurant.
A wide selection of salads and delicious soups such as Vernon's famous wedding soup, pasta fagoli or clam chowder.
Your main course can be homemade ravioli's, or homemade gnocchi’s, or the homemade cavatelli. Or try the egg plant, chicken or veal parmigana.
If you in the mood for sea food try the delicious salmon dish or the fresh catch of the day.
By the way Vernon makes the finest risotto or for those who remember the former Cherry's Restaurant Cherry fries, try Vernon's Fries.
As for the steak lover, Vernon's New York Strip or special cut Black Angus steak tasted better than the steak that I had at Ruth Crisp.
Finally, close the evening out with any of the delicious Vernon desserts made on the premises by Maria Fallo. The Cannoli is absolutely divine;
Or try the Italian Spumoni; the homemade chocolate cake is rich and moist; or the divine Cafe Style Cheesecake; /Strawberries
Or Vern's mothers recipe Tiramisu; or the refreshing Vanilla Ice Cream.
You will find the pricing moderate and much less than the Cleveland and Pittsburgh market.
