North Carolina, Memphis, Texas, Kansas City and….Howell, That's right, Howell, as in Howell, Michigan. When you ask someone where to get proper BBQ Howell is usually not high on the list. We're out to change that. Started by a refuge of the once mighty Auto industry (and joined shortly thereafter by another refuge from the Auto Industry) TJ''s River BBQ is home to some of the best que this side of, well, the Mason Dixon line.

Proper BBQ is defined by a little three word sentence that should be easy to remember cause it rhymes; low and slow. Our prime cuts of meat are rubbed, massaged, spiced, sauced and smoked for up to 18 hours to bring out the real flavor of the meat. We suggest you enjoy it naked however if you must, enjoy it with any of our sauces which have been created to enhance the flavor of the meat, not cover it up!
