Food was ok. Our waitress was one step above having a tree stump serve us. Food was undercooked and over priced. We were sad to hear that it was under new ownership because that usually spells trouble. Save your money and the time and eat elsewhere. Arby's would have been better. :(

Put the fine back in your fine dining. If you haven't eaten at the Fireside Inn since the arrival of Chef Rod you are missing out on an outstanding dining experience. The Fireside Inn has been my wife's and my favorite restaurant for 20 years. Now they've "Kicked it up" another notch. The presentation, portion and taste are just about perfect. The prices are comparable to what you might remember at the "Old" Fireside. The service, as always is top notich, friendly and efficient. The slight remodel with the addition of more art is refreshing and you can still sit next to their signature fireplace if you wish. Chef Rod works his magic with balanced use of spices and herbs and will even prepare a custom meal for you with advanced notice. If you tire of the same old thing give the "New" Fireside Inn a try. It is truely "Fine Dining."

They have new owners, so before you go up there, you may want to check to see if they have your favorite items from before as it is a whole new menu and a whole new experience. If you are going there and expecting what it was before, you may be deeply disappointed. When asked if we had reservations and we told them no, she shot a look at us like how dare you come here without them. I ordered the Oscar which has Alaskan King Crab as a topper for the tenderloin, but you may want to ask how much comes on it, I got a small piece of crab the size of a small child's finger. The food had a good taste, but when we left, we were still hungry, so we stopped at a fast food place in Rapid for a snack. Usually a $70.00 dinner for two will not leave you hungry.

Beautiful location, the restaurant really does blend in well on the outside as well as in to the surroundings. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, our server was excellent. The food, there really are no words to describe how good the food was! My husband and I were visiting family in South Dakota and it happened to be our anniversary so this is the place that was suggested to us. Now we know why. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who wants a comfortable atmosphere with luxury food and service.

Located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. The restaurant, inside and out fits well in this setting. The menu is varied with everything from seafood to Italian. We have dined here several times and have always been please with the food and service. Prime Rib is exceptionally good as are the other steaks. The prices are reasonable and fair for the type of food and atmosphere. A good place to go for an anniversary or other special occasion. Come as you are.
