General manager Mark Hrabe pointed out a 90-minute Dogfish Indian Pale Ale as one such beer.
"We wanted to be more upscale with our beers," said Hrabe. "We didn't want to be another biker bar."
Creating such a family-friendly setting in the dining area also helped the business expand among the senior community at nearby Heritage hunt. Hrabe explained that a simple menu with, for instance, pot roast as the early-bird special, along with an open chowder bar, has kept the senior customer base coming back.
Families also have the option of dining over prime rib or any other special while allowing their kids play at the six pool tables stationed all in one room near the entrance. Flatscreen televisions deck the walls in both the dining hall and bar; different rooms have different music playing over the speakers; and live bands perform monthly in the back bar while an acoustic act comes in on Tuesdays.
