As a group we decided to dine out at the Texas Road House. We each had our own critiques to keep in mind while we were dining. Colten’s were to check out the atmosphere of the restaurant and also the amount of food that was served to us. Aaron picked the quality of the food and also the quantity for the price. The third member of our group, Russell, picked how well the service was and the cleanliness of the restaurant.
Colten was assigned to check out the environment of Texas Road House. He reported the atmosphere to be extremely laid back and also kind of fun. One thing that stuck out was that there were peanuts as snacks. All of us know that peanuts are very messy. At the Road House you can make as big of a mess as you would like. After you are finished with your peanuts you just throw the shell on the ground. Most places that is unheard of but at Texas Road House it is part of the experience. It was very awkward at first seeing all the shells on the floor crunching under your feet as you walk to your seat, but was normal by the end of the night. His next criterion was the amount of food that was being served. He was very satisfied. They start you off with unlimited amounts of the best tasting bread around. He ordered an 11 oz. steak which was accompanied by two sides of your choice. He chose the salad and the loaded mashed potatoes. He claimed that it was more than enough to fill him up.
Aaron’s two critiques were the quality of the food and the price. He thought that the price was reasonable. He ordered the 8 oz. sirloin steak with a salad and loaded mashed potatoes and paid around ten dollars for his meal. He thought that the quality of the food was excellent. He requested his steak be cooked medium rare. When he got it he was pleased to see that it was cooked exactly as he requested. The steak was tender and juicy and was seasoned to his taste. The mashed potatoes did not have any lumps in them.
Russell observed the quality of the service and also the cleanliness of the restaurant. Let’s begin with the quality of food. He ordered a sirloin steak with roadhouse’s signature “fall off the bone ribs”. His two sides were a side salad and the “loaded sweet potato”. The quality of service was great; the food arrived at just the “right time”. The “right time” described as the drink as soon as you are seated, the salad not long after your food is ordered, and finally the entrée when the salad has settled in your stomach. Russell feels that this kind of service lets the customer have an enjoyable time doing what they came to the restaurant to do, eat and socialize. Moreover, in addition to the great quality of food and timeliness the waitresses appear to enjoy their job always greeting you with a smile and engaging in light conversation. The second of Russell’s critiques was the cleanliness. To most people, when they walk into a restaurant they expect to see a spotless appearance, and a floor that could be described as “clean enough to eat off of”. Well, when you come to Texas Roadhouse don’t expect to see this spotless floor, Roadhouse has a unique way of giving the customer to not really feel at home but just relax. They allow their customers to throw peanut shells on the floor of their restaurant! Russell felt that to a bunch of college guys this is an amazing option. If a person would have judged solely on the appearance of the floor as they walked into the restaurant, some probably would have turned around and left. These few people would have left on false pretenses because the restaurant is actually one of the cleanest ever. Every unused table is spotless as well as the silverware and dining ware that one is served on.
In the end, as a group decision we would tell anyone who loves great, down home cooking, with a little twist that Texas Roadhouse is the restaurant for them. From the fun environment of the restaurant to the great service and high quality food, this restaurant is a time well spent.
