Ok, Being that I moved to Tn from San Francisco CA, I have been hesitant to try any of the sushi locations here in my area. After looking on the internet I found Sushi Max and saw such glowing reviews that I thought I would give it a try. I'm not sure who wrote those other reviews, but I find it very hard to believe that it was from people who actually ate here. It was literally the WORST sushi I have ever eaten. I had to fight the urge to spit it out at the table, the sashimi was room temperature, slimey and to say it was fishy would be a understatement. There was also a strong tangy flavor to it, that I know fish shouldnt have. We tried the rolls in hopes that perhaps this is what people found so good. out of the 4 different types we ordered the only one that was decent was the spicy shrimp tempura, which we then noticed had not been de-veined.
The only positive I can say is that the waitress was very nice and attentive, but that in no way could make up for the quality of the food. I was physically ill when I returned home.
So please, take this into consideration before going here. I know I've been spoiled by the fresh sushi I was able to get on the west coast, but I've had better sushi from a grocery store, and have never been sick from eating it. By boyfriend was also ill, and he can eat just about anything with no problem.
I would give 0 stars if I could.
