I do love the atmosphere of this restaurant, it's what keeps me coming back. When we first started coming here years ago, the food was much better. Now, every year, that is less and less the case. I do believe that they only survive on their past reputation. Excellent service is reserved for the special people. If you aren't one of them, your service will be average, at best.

After driving an hour to get to the restaurant, I was extremely disappointed. The building and the atmosphere are fabulous. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. What a shame for such a classic place. We had reservations for four and were seated at a table set for six. At no time did the waitress or busgirl attempt to remove the extra place settings. Our waitress had very little when it came to personality, thank heaven that the restaurant itself has warmth and character. Obviously, staffing was a problem this evening, for we barely saw our waitress. She had forgotten items that were ordered and we were never offered a dessert menu or coffee after dinner. What a shame because the place itself is absolutely charming. The food was good and maybe would have even been considered delicious with the proper service. I guess, not being asked if we would like another drink, more bread, etc. did not help. I am sure our waitress was having a bad evening, but not what I expect when I am paying for the "excellent" service in the prices on the menu. I personally would not drive another hour to eat there. If I was in the area, I would give it another chance, because of the ambience. One more thing, if you could take the skin off the fish before serving the Talapia, that would also be a great help, it was a bit fishing tasting. I truly think I am being kind with rating this as a 3 star overall dining experience. My compliments to the architect and designer!

I visit this restaurant at least once each November while I'm in Ohio on an annual deer hunting trip. I have never been disappointed with my visit as the food is excellent and the ambience is great! You must visit if you've never been!

Fabulous experience! Our waiter was excellent and so knowledgable about the menu. Our neighbors took us and we certainly were impressed. We will be back with family and other friends. It was worth the drive.

The first time I ate at this restaurant I was amazed by the dinning experience. The best seat in the house is by the roaring fire. The cuisine is that of an upscale New York restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who like adventure and romance.
