Spinnaker Restaurant

We had a truly disappointing experience at the Spinnaker on Thanksgiving, 2010. To begin with, we were seated not in the nicer Spinnaker restaurant, but instead in the lounge, which is little more than a glorified sports bar, complete with TVs and cheesy popular music, blenders running, etc. Not what I would associate with "fine dining." Our "table for three" was actually a table for two with three place settings, and it appeared that the small table did not even fit the four-person booth seating (was the table switched out just for this occasion? who knows). No tablecloths, nothing like that. To get to the buffet serving area, we had to traverse through the kitchen, where we could hear the servers complaining to each other about customers. And the food was not much better than the atmosphere. The "hot" food at the buffet was for the most part ice cold. The salmon dish served -- you'd think seafood would be their specialty -- was horribly fishy tasting, and the sweet potatoes were clearly canned. Both were inedible. Given the high price and even higher expectations we had (having eaten here a few times on holidays past), this was such a disappointment that it barely rates one star.
