We just returned home from our ski weekend in Sandpoint and Schweitzer Mountain and dined at Slates. What a great place, we went because of the previous reviews posted and were not disappointed. Traveling with 3 kids is not easy sometimes, but they gave the kids the coloring contest and that kept them busy for a while. My wife and I both had prime rib and it was wonderful. Probably the best we've had in a long time, very tender. We went back the next night and I had the BBQ Ribs and my wife had the Clams over linguini. Both we so good we shared each others meal. We stayed next door at the Holiday Inn Express, which made it very convenient for us to dine and stay. We will return next month for another ski weekend and look forward to dining at this restaurant.

Traveling though northern Idaho this winter we we're referred to Slates by a local skier. What a great place this is, it looks like a log cabin and the inside is beautiful, I wish I had a home like this. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Steve Coffman, who is always out talking to his customers making sure everything is OK. The food was great, service was great, just something we don't see in the big city anymore. Would highly recommend Slates, oh and by the way they have HD TV's all over the place so my husband and kids we're truly entertained with football too!

Slates has moved into their new location and WOW is it beautiful!
The service is great, food is yummy and lot's of HD TV's to watch sports on.. There located just north of the Schweitzer Mountain Cut off road, right on the highway.. Tell them Judy sent you!
