My wife and I enjoyed our experience at the Shogun. The temperature was a little cold inside but other than that, everything else was great. Our waitress was a little slow but our chef was great. He joked with us the entire time he was cooking and made the experience worth it. The prices were fair but the seating was very close to other tables.

I have been to Shogun on multiple occasions and am always welcomed by a friendly staff. The food is great! If you are looking for a friendly experience by a family owned restaurant this is where you should go!

We visited Shogun on two separate occasions. The first time the food was ok, however, I ordered the lobster, and it had spent a little to long in the freezer. After pointing this out, they offered to reduce our bill. The 2nd time was a much better experience, the food was fresh, and well presented. I'm not saying it's the best hibachi / sushi place, but it wasn't too bad. If you are a Chesterfield resident, it's a good choice. I wouldn't drive from the West End to go here.....

NEVER AGAIN...We went on a Friday night and the place was nearly dead, only one hibachi table going. We wanted to try a new place for sushi in our area. When we entered, there was just a small sushi bar with no one behind it--first warning. I decided to have ramen instead as I wasn't certain about the sushi, but my husband went ahead and ordered it. One of the teenage girls who was working as a waitress then went over to the sushi bar and began to prepare his order, and wasn't wearing any gloves, just handling the fish with her bare hands--second warning. Meanwhile, I ordered the soy ramen, which was misspelled on the menu as "ramien"--third strike. All that added up to way overpriced, poorly prepared sushi and the worst ramen I've had in my life. I lived in Japan for a year and had shoyu ramen in many places, but it never tasted like this--overcooked noodles with small chunks of bland chicken, carrots and broccoli (WHAT?--not remotely traditional), and a TON of sesame oil dumped in it. It was like eating the Exxon Valdez. I'm shocked that neither of us came down with food poisoning.
