Great BBQ pork & chicken. Wide selection of dishes to complete the meal. Small selection of deserts. We arrived at 15 min to closing so some items may have been under the heat lamp a little long. Vegetables were over cooked for my taste but probably what the locals like & that is fine because we went there to experience local food. We will definitely return when we are in the area. It was fun to local families visiting & enjoying a meal together after church.

We have always enjoyed dining at Roger's BBQ until recently. In the past year quality of food decreased. After dining in the restaurant this past weekend, I do not intend to go back. My husband and I took friends of ours to dinner Saturday night. Food was cold, many containers were empty. The buffet was dirty-spilled food all over-had been there for a while- it had dried. Drink area- sticky from beverages spilled- not cleaned. One word- disgusting. Not the reputation that Roger's BBQ has carried over the years. Many complaints heard that night in the restuarant from others.

Alright I'm sitting on rogers eating right now. Pros' bbq and chicken are rockin. Cons' everthing else. The dinning area is wide open rooms under fluorescent lighting torn dirty carpets and white tables with ugly uncomfortable red chairs. The food with exception of the bbq the food was horrific. I bought my family out tonight, while serving my 8 year old he asked for mac and cheese. I took a scoop pf mac and cheese out and there where long black hairs in bottom of the pan. 35 dollars for 2 adults and an 8 yearold. Overpriced not only that but you have 2 pay 2 dollars extra for each soda. Waitress staff saw her two times in an hour and a half. All in all just plain bad.

One of the best restaurants in Florence. If you like Southern buffet, this is THE best. My husband loads up on BBQ and chicken. I load up on the veggies. Their cabbage, greens, mac&cheese, squash casserole, slaw, sweet potato casserole - ALL of these are outstanding!!!! Homemade. True, this kind of food is VERY fattening and artery clogging, so I wouldn't eat there every day, but once in a while, OH MY!!!

Every time I visit my father, we go to Rogers. They have the BEST southern BBQ and sweet potato souffle ANYWHERE. The place is always busy cause the food is THAT GOOD, and the price for what you get is definately worth the trip...

Food is great. However, my last trip there was very crowded and very smelly. Use your own judgment.

The food here is absolutely outstanding. It is a great value and good quality. All of my friends from out of town always want to go there when they visit. Its a great place to have a hearty southern meal while fellowshiping with family and friends. Even when I get take out, it is still enough food to eat some now and save some for later.

Rogers is the best around. The food is excellent. The price is right for the quality of food you get. I find it interesting when people complain about carry-out food. It was never meant to be carried out as quality and freshness are lost on the ride home. If you do not like the quanity, eat in and go back as much as you like. You can find buffet's with a cheaper price, but the food is also cheaper. This restaurant does not pour vegetables from a can and then heat, it is all made fresh on site. There is no other choice for BBQ in town.

The best bbq you will ever eat spicy or regular. Ribs ,seafood and all the fixens what more could you ask for.The liver hash is to die for the best in the southeast. I never miss a chance to there.

The barbeque is really good if you eat buffet but I can't stand to eat in there with 500 of your closest obese friends. It's loud, dingy, but clean. We order take out and what one of the other reviewers wrote is sooooo true about them piling the rice up under the barbeque to make you think you have more barbeque. The plates are pricey but my 2 children and I can eat off of one and my husband usually takes his leftover for lunch the next day. So really in retrospect it is not that expensive considiring all the food you do get unless you woof down all of that food at one sitting. Get a take out plate the buffet is way overpriced.

I got take out and my order was wrong...instead of getting squash I got macaroni & cheese. The hot BBQ beef is absolutely outstanding. The sides are just okay....I got mac & cheese, chicken & rice, and rice with red gravy. BBQ - EXCELLENT...sides-just okay.

Roger's Bar B Q has the BEST barbeque anywhere.
A diner from Florence, SC Jul 30, 2006
I got a BBQ carry out box. Boy they piled the chicken bog on...and one little scoop of BBQ. They even had chicken bog underneath the BBQ so the BBQ would like like it was more than it was. How pathetic. It was good, but they want you to get more sides than actual meet.

The food is good, but the buffet is overpriced. Used to be a better value before new ownership took over. Restaurant is usually loud. Atmosphere is somewhat "low-rent".
