My main complaint is Rivera's policy of only one small complimentary serving (bowl/basket) of chips and salsa per table (regardless of the number of diners at the table, whether it's one or six). Requests for additional servings of chips and salsa adds a charge of $1.99 per serving to your bill...I asked to speak with the owner (who was on site) about the policy, however, he neglected to speak to or even acknowledge me...this is extremely rude and tells me the owner is aware this policy is out of touch with other dining establisments throughout the US and Mexico...Other than this inconvience the food is somewhat better than the so-called Mexican chain restaurants, the atmosphere is close-in (strip mall rental) and extremely loud, however, there is at least one competent waitress on site.

The food was good. The service was horrible. I got the wrong dinner delivered to my table, when I told the service that I hadn't ordered what he brought he just looked at me and walked away. I'll never go back.

If you have never had Alvarados... you are missing out. The tacos are the BEST!! They are also open ALL THE TIME! Get the beef tacos and some extra sauce.. the sauce is hot but not so hot it ruins the meal. Bring a b

OK, what part of MEXICAN did their cooks not understand. Unless I smothered my food in salsa, it was tasteless and that went for our entire group of four that all ordered something different. We won't be back!
