It is very rare for my wife and I to go out to eat in Charleston and not eat at Sitar of India. Great food, very little on the menu I don't like. I recently returned from New York City where we ate at an expensive Indian restaurant and a cheaper one - Sitar of Charleston was much better than either. It is light-years better than an Indian restaurant I visited last December in Washington, DC.
Good variety of Indian food, all was pretty good (I tried everybody's). Nothing too fancy, just a nice dinner out. Overall a nice dining experience.
In a safe, clean part of downtown Charleston.
