The Thai Food here is excellent and I love the huge pink radish rose (edible) that was added to my plate for beautiful presentation. The staff is very nice and for the best experience, eat in.
i found the alpenhof to be a most unique dining experience its old world charm transported me back to when i toured europe and ate at real german restaurants it was as good if not superior to anything i had in germany i highly recommend it!

This was once a wonderful German restaurant and gift shop. Now it's just barely a bar with a one page menu serving hot dogs and microwavable bar food. Good pizza, soups, and sandwiches. Smoky, even in the non-smoking section.
The owners did change in the past year so ignore the older reviews. The food was excellent. It took about 45 min for us go to get take out, but it was very good.
SHHHHH !! Don't tell anyone how much of gem this place is ! Home made soups ! Unbelievable sandwiches, fresh squeezed OJ. Delightful owners/operators. Best lunch in Berks by far !

Excellent dining experience. Grill is awesome!
The new renovations and owners are fab! The sushi is the best in the Reading-area. Its not the old China Penn that had a bad reputation. Everything is new. Don't let the exterior fool you - inside the food, decor, service, etc is great!
