I've been going to Don's since I was a child and have rarely been disappointed in their cuisine. The seafood gumbo, made with a dark roux base, is to die for and their craw-fish bisque the best in the city. Family friendly, Cajun casual and moderately priced, Don's is a favorite with my family. My wife and I love mexican food. We have eaten at almost every mexican restuarant in Baton Rouge. For the true authenic taste of mexican food El Magueys is the best in town. Also the margiritas are excellent. I would suggest this restuarant to anybody who is looking for the real mexican food expe...
Well, I must say that this has to be the best place (so far) in Baton Rouge. As a Texacan and living growing up on the border of Mexico, I think I know my Mexican food. The service was perfect.
I love this place the food exellent, service is great. There is nothing on the buffet i did not like. All the food taste very good. One of my favorites is the BBQ chicken. all the food is home made and very fresh you must try this place you can take a pick on their web elmagey.com
We go for the Pizza and the oldies on the juke box.
If you are looking for a great place to mellow out after a long week, this is the place. They have the best pizza I've ever had, and it goes great with a couple of beers. Don't go here starving. You have to expect about an hour serving time when it is busy. Luckily, the beer isn't too expensive,...
Great food! Best Pizza around, great atmosphere, fun place to meet up and chat with friends over a few drinks and pizza. My #1 pick in Baton Rouge.
The best pizza around. Not only is the food wonderful, but the staff is too. They basically focus on one thing, pizza, but they do it well. It is a friendly, neighborhood restaurant and well worth many, many visits.
this place is a city treasure, my parents ate here when they were married, the same year that the joint opened in 1947. I live in Tampa, FL and still rave about this place and my second favorite joint, the Pastime Lounge.
If you guys only knew how special this place was. APPRECIATE IT!!!!!!
I love their shrimp pizza, but all of them are great!
Really bad. My entree was served burned - could not be cut with a knife and the sauce was broken! They also forgot to bring our salad. No one, not the server or the manager seemed to care. Plenty of other great restaurants in this town where I can spend my money. We will NEVER go back.
The food was delicious! It is perfect for small group gathering as well as a private lunch with one other person.
Excellent food. A real jewel in South Baton Rouge.
Atmosphere is amazing as well as the service!!!
I thought it was an A+ restaruant. The food was
good and plentiful!!!
I have long since moved from LA, but I still make the drive from my parent's in Covington to B.R. for Jay's BBQ when I'm visiting.
Food was far below average, even for a chain retaurant.
Everything was basically low rate. From the server to the food, but the drinks were by far the worst. The bartender most not know what goes in their own speciality drinks. I am a server and bartender so I watch and taste everything. The server and bartender got an F from me. I do no plan on going b...
I have been to Joe's Many Many times. Everytime i went the food was great. The whole dining exp. was great with or without my kids. When the new owners took over i was afaid things would change and they did but for the better. I would eat there all the time if it wasnt so far to drive.
This is a beautiful restaurant, and the food is wonderful.
