My first encounter with the Red Dog Steak House was about 2 weeks ago with co-workers. I thought -- whatever, another smokey bar. -- Was I wrong, the bar is of course somewhat smokey but the quality of the food far outweighs that fact. The eating area is clean and the steaks are cooked over apple wood - AWESOME flavor! For value and taste, this "small town, hole-in-the-wall" steak house surpasses both Ruths Chris and St. Elmos.

Well worth the drive. Competitive to steakshouses downtown and priced better. Steaks earn rave reviews and I loved the buttered orange roughy.
