I lived in Warrensburg several years ago, and grew to love the food Perry prepares. His ribs and pork are legendary in the area, and expecially with the KC Chiefs team, although I did not know that when I first became addicted to his food. His chicken is fabulous. Eventually, I learned to duplicate the taste of the ribs, coleslaw and beans - I encountered Perry shopping for his staples in the local grocery, and began working on him for more details (of course)!! He uses everyday ingredients available to all of us. His results are excellent due to an incredible palate and his huge smokers. Caution: Perry's bbq style is dry, meaning you are supposed to apply the sauce, if desired, as you eat. I Haven't lived in Warrensburg, or even close to it, in many years, but visit once or twice a year; I always work in a visit to eat Perry's food. And, since I really could not live without such killer ribs, I make them "Perry" style wherever I live, and always get raves. Sometimes I wonder if mine are even better??
