Pork ribs, mutton, burgoo, potato salad, pickles & onions.
Being from Owensboro I have a few choices for local style BBQ, but Old Hickory is where I always go. There is a certain restaurant in town that has become the "McDonald's" of Owensboro BBQ. The BBQ there these days is about as authentic as the McRib... or McMutton in this case I guess.
Old Hickory remembers its roots, and you get as much in the service as you do the food. I have never left unhappy with the service I received.
The food is, as long as you like Owensboro BBQ, about as good as it gets.

I also grew up in Owensboro and first ate at Old Hickory about 40 years ago when it was located across the street from it's current location. I live in Montgomery, AL now but also love to stop by Old Hickory every time I'm in Owensboro to grab my chopped mutton! It's the BEST food in the world and the BEST chopped mutton in Owensboro is always at Old Hickory. If you've never tried it...you're in for a real treat.

I grew up in Owensboro but have lived in Orlando Florida for the past 20+ years.
On every return visit to Owensboro I have always visited my friends and family right after I stop by Old Hickory.
My last stop before returning to Orlando is to Old Hickory to purchase as much sliced mutton and Bar-B-Q Sauce as I can afford.
My friends and family know better than to show up at my door without Old Hickory Bar-B-Q in their hands.

I live in Owensboro and if I want great burgoo and ribs I always go to Old South. I have had bbq from all the main bbq restaurants and theirs is the best in both categories. I also take a turkey to them for Thanksgivin

I DROVE BY ON MY WAY TO KFC FOR 10 PIECES FOR 10 DOLLARS. THE SIGN AT YOUR PLACE SAID 10 PIECES FOR EIGHT DOLLARS.I DROVE THROUGH FOR 10 PIECES AND A 1/2 PINT OF LIVERS . THE BILL WAS 16.00 DOLLARS.I PAID FOR THE RIPOFF

You have to try the club sandwich, it is the best! The hamburgers are pretty awsome too. If the music is too loud you are apperantly getting old. Try moving. ITS A BAR IT IS GOING TO BE LOUD!We just live a few blocks aw
